About Steve Huff
Crime historian and author Laura James has called Steve Huff the “best true crime blogger on the English-speaking internet,” and best-selling true crime writer and suspense novelist Gregg Olsen has said that Steve “invented serious true crime blogging.” In recent years no less than Ann Rule has acknowledged Steve’s work in her true crime book, Too Late to Say Goodbye, and true crime authors Paul La Rosa and Michele McPhee have quoted extensively in their own books from commentary and blog posts written by Steve about high-profile cases in the news.
In November, 2006, Rolling Stone placed two of Steve Huff’s original crime blogs (CrimeBlog.US and HuffCrimeBlog.com) on their list of the “5 best true crime sites on the ‘Net.” Steve has been a commentator and consultant for MSNBC, Fox News, Court TV, CBS and Dateline NBC.
In late 2007 Steve was featured in MyCase.com, a half-hour special about “cyber-sleuthing” produced for Court TV (now TruTV) by Optomen Television.
As a freelance journalist Steve contributed groundbreaking investigative articles to Court TV’s CrimeLibrary.com. He has since written about politics, crime and pop culture for Radar Magazine (radaronline.com). He’s also been a consultant and commentator for several news organizations, including Fox News, CBS, and MSNBC.
Steve’s crime blog is theĀ True Crime Report (www.truecrimereport.com). True Crime Report is published by Village Voice Media, owner of the legendary Village Voice, LA Weekly, and 14 other alt-weeklies nationwide.
In addition to these sites, Steve is also a blog consultant for screenwriter, actor, comedian and author Michael Ian Black.
